Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba Reunited

The Senegal coach, Alain Giresse, has named his Senegal squad for the world cup qualifier against Angoa on March 23.

Giresse has named both Papiss Cisse and Demba in his squad as he tries to give Senegal some credibility back after their failure to qualify for the African Nations and the riots that ensued.

Subsequently, Ba and Cisse have to travel to play in Conakry in Guinea, following a one year ban on matches at their home ground, the Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.

The team are meeting in Paris on the Monday before flying on to Conakry, Senegal currently lead their qualifying group with four points, Uganda & Angola on two points, Liberia with one.

Interesting to see how their international coach uses the two players, they’ve rarely played together for the national team and Cisse has usually taken preference over Ba.

However, if we take the England team as the example then Ba’s move to the bright lights of London won’t have done him any harm.
