Newcastle United – Tramps and Lepers Unite For Success In Europe
In terms of English interest, the Champions League is looking a dead duck with Manchester United so cruelly (how funny was that!) bowing out last night, while Arsenal are all but out after Bayern crushed them at the Emirates in the first leg.

So for the English media they will be left with the dregs, otherwise known as the Europa League, what could be even better is that there is a realistic scenario where they could then be left with the real dregs of the remaining English clubs, namely Newcastle United.
Spurs have Inter Milan while Chelsea face a tricky one against Steaua Bucharest, who beat Ajax in the last round.
So if we can edge past Rouble rich Anzhi, there could be every chance of Newcastle standing proudly alone as the nation’s hopes in Europe – how funny would that be?
As we all know, Newcastle have been marginalised in terms of TV coverage with terrestial TV taking Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea ahead of United, until the scousers sadly left us…
I didn’t hear it myself but apparently Radio Five Live and Talksport had lengthy reports and chat about each of the other three teams following their first leg matches in the last round and we weren’t even mentioned!
As I say, how funny would it be that after assuming the role of the English leper in Europe, we were suddenly the only club left.
It would be like a tramp winning the lottery, suddenly everybody wants to be your mate after spending so long giving you a wide berth.
So tramps and lepers unite and let’s get through this tie and who knows, in eight days time you might not be able to move for people wanting to be your best mate.
