Newcastle United Draw Benfica In Quarter Finals
A draw that looks decent on many levels sees United face the team currently top of their domestic league.
In terms of ability there appears little to choose between certainly the non-English clubs and so a relatively decent accessible trip for those wanting to travel, plus the advantage of the second leg at home.
Matches are scheduled for Thursday 4th April in Lisbon and then Thursday 11th April back at St.James’ Park. We await details of likely date changes for the home matches with Fulham (6th April) and Sunderland (13th April).
Before last night’s win over Anzhi, Newcastle united were 20/1 to win the whole competition and the good news is that while predictably the odds have been cut, you can still get 14/1 (to see odds for all clubs click here) and if you back E/W then you get 1/3 of the odds if we get to the final.
