Hatem Ben Arfa Could Play This Season

In yet another strange twist in the Hatem Ben Arfa injury saga, the manager has now revealed that the enigmatic Frenchman does NOT require an operation to sort out his hamstring injury.

Alan Pardew said to the Chronicle today;

“We are getting more optimistic that he (Ben Arfa) could be involved again before the end of the season.”

Without question it would be a major bonus if Hatem Ben Arfa played any part in the remainder of our season but I must admit to being a bit concerned about the player overall.

When a player keeps breaking down it is never good news and the fact no operation is needed, could point to the problem being in the mind, rather than body, of Ben Arfa. The player admitting himself that he also had to mentally get over the serious injury suffered by De Jong against Manchester City.

The reports of club concern about Hatem’s physical condition when he appeared in court recently, may have been overplayed, but he certainly didn’t look like he’d be playing any time soon.

Maybe you just have to take the full package when you are dealing with a talent like Ben Arfa, let’s just hope whenever he does come back that he is fit & ready and doesn’t suffer yet another false dawn.

Great odds available for the Manchester City match this Sunday, especially if you aren’t already a customer of BetVictor and take advantage of their special offer of a £25 free matched bet.
