Haidara Gets All Clear On Ligament Damage

9 years ago

Great news today as it was revealed that after further tests, it has been found that Massadio Haidara’s knee ligaments are not damaged.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Haidara also showed a maturity beyond his years as he spoke about McManaman;

“Yesterday morning I underwent some further tests, the ligaments in the knee are undamaged. It is a massive relief, I was very worried when it happened.

I thought he had broken my leg or smashed up my knee, the pain was unbearable – I could not bend my knee. It was horrible but God was on my side.

At the time I was very angry, I thought he had ended my career. Now I Know I escaped serious injury, I have taken time to stand back and I am not angry.

I simply hope that it will serve as a lesson for him (McManaman) and the next time he’ll think twice before making a tackle like that.

I hope when he watched it back, he told himself that wasn’t who he really was”.

I think it is only natural to compare and contrast the nature of Haidara’s comments with those that have come out of Wigan, with their first instinct to defend their player at all costs rather than concern for a potential serious injury.
