Coloccini Could Make Benfica
In the Mail reports, Jonas Gutierrez has also said that his close friend is making good progress and should recover quicker than expected.
This is what Jonas said in the story in The Mail;
“When he got the injury they said 6 to 8 weeks, when you talk about Colo we know he can do it quicker.
He always does the right things and he doesn’t have any problems, so we will see him soon.
I spoke with him and he’s feeling better, it’s a long-term injury of around a month or so”.
The injury of course happened when Coloccini made that acrobatic overhead clearance against Southampton and the Benfica home tie would be nearly seven weeks after picking up the injury.
As has been shown with our rash of full-back injuries in the space of a few days, you can’t take anything for granted, so just because Mapou and Taylor have fitted together so well – it would be a massive boost to have the club captain available again for what could be a vital last few weeks of the campaign.
