Cisse Returns To Training And Alan Pardew Expects Him To Play Against Stoke
After a week of sickness that led to him missing the first leg against Anzhi in Moscow, Alan Pardew has revealed that Papiss Cisse has now returned to training and expects him to play against Stoke on Sunday.
A big worry for the manager as no doubt he wants to keep Gouffran slightly withdrawn and where he has really looked the part, hopefully Papiss is now raring to go and as the manager said earlier, has now got some ‘air in his lungs’.
This is what the manager had to say on NUFC TV after Cisse trained;
“Yes I think Papiss will make it, he’s trained today and looks fine”.
Though other injury worries have cropped up with Pardew commenting that;
“We have though got a little injury about Shola”.
The manager didn’t make clear what the injury is but Alan Pardew had made clear that he hadn’t wanted Shola to play on the artificial pitch in Moscow and whether that has caused te problem remains to be seen.
On a more positive note, great to hear Papiss Cisse is on his way back and a repeat of our last match at St.James’ Park would do very nicely.
