Cabaye Doesn’t Think It’s A ‘Big Injury’
As Newcastle were put under pressure in that opening period, Cabaye was playing a real captain’s role trying to protect the back four.
He paid for it in the end as he stretched to make another challenge.
Speaking to the Evening Chronicle though, Cabaye was upbeat as he waits to see the extent of his injury;
“It was my groin but not the same area. It felt tight, I don’t think it is too bad but we will see tomorrow.
I had surgery 3 or 4 months ago and I want to be fit every day. We’ve played a lot of games and maybe that’s why.
Before the game I was feeling well, I don’t think it is a big injury”
Like me, a lot of players are real optimists but let’s hope that on this occasion Yohan’s assessment is spot on. I’m guessing many fans would settle for him back in action for the quarter finals of the Europa League in early April.
