Alan Pardew – ‘We Can Beat Anzhi Without Hatem, No Problem’

9 years ago

Speaking in advance of the Europa League second leg with Anzhi, Alan Pardew has laid down what his team needs to do.

Having confirmed that Hatem Ben Arfa will miss and Shola has a fitness test to get through, nevertheless the manager is still full of confidence that United can do it and this is what Pardew said to the official club website;

“If I’m honest, this match in particular, him (Ben Arfa) missing isn’t going to make a great impact because I think the team is in a good place and I think we can beat them without him, no problem”.

While Sky Sports reported;

“It is a great position for us, it is quite simple – we need to win.

If you are going to go through in a tie then you need to win, you don’t want to be through on away goals.

We squeezed through last time (Metalist) and we want to win this one. The agenda is right in front of us, the emphasis, we will have forty two thousand Geordies in there going mad.

Anzhi have had experience against Premier League opposition against Liverpool this year and they lost 1-0, I think this game is going to be tougher for them.

It is a really tough agenda for us, make no mistake about that, but I still have a very strong feeling we can win. Our fans will also think that on the back of three home wins, we are going in with great confidence”.

With Goffran also missing (ineligible), a lot of responsibility will once again fall on Moussa Sissoko and Yohan Cabaye to create problems for the visitors.

Great odds available for the Anzhi match this Thursday, especially if you aren’t already a customer of BetVictor and take advantage of their special offer of a £25 free matched bet.
