Alan Pardew ‘We Are Done’
These are now Alan Pardew’s hopes and expectations for the rest of this season;
“To be honest, I think that we are done. You have now got to go on and get forty points but we are now seven points off that with nine games left. You would expect this team to follow through, with the standard it has now got it should be able to do that.
The bigger picture though is to finish strongly like Everton (last year) and then take it into next season, we are showing some good signs, in terms of doing that”.
While there is no doubt the Chelsea result was a massive one, maybe the more crucial were Southampton and then Stoke, in that order of priority.
If Southampton had won at St.James’ Park they would have gone three points ahead of Newcastle and momentum is so important at this stage of the season.
On the subject of momentum, unfortunately I think ‘Arry Redknapp has every chance of saving QPR with consecutive wins against fellow relegation candidates Southampton and the mackems.
Newcastle are now surely riding on the back of some heady momentum, compared to much of this season, let’s make it count on Thursday night and keep our dreams of Amsterdam alive.
