Alan Pardew ‘Fantastic Performance From My Technical Team’
Fair play to the manager because with only the odd exception, his players showed a lot of class and composure in dealing with the conditions and limiting the opposition to very few chances, whilst also creating the best opportunity of the night.
After the match Alan Pardew spoke to NUFCTV and gave his verdict;
“Fantastic performance, against a really good side, I played a technical team that was good with the ball. I though we controlled the ball in the first half and gave them limited opportunities.
Second half they were a little sharper and we had to defend well, a couple of decent saves from Rob that will do him no harm”.
I don’t think there is any doubt now that Rob Elliot is clear number two to Tim Krul now and it will be interesting when our number one is back fit to see what the manager does, if Elliot keeps up this level of performance.
Maybe the biggest bonus tonight was coming away with no injuries because it looked painful whenever anybody went down with any force.
Alan Pardew picked the right eleven for the occasion tonight but that shows how essential it is to have a strong enough squad to cope.
