Pardew Confirms Cheick Tiote Is First Choice

Following the game at White Hart Lane, Alan Pardew has turned his attention to the next league match which is Southampton at St.James’ Park.

In his own words the manager finds it “mouthwatering” when he looks at the team he could potentially put out on that day and of course future ones.

While Pardew showed loyalty to James Perch against Spurs despite Tiote’s availability, the result and the no better than average performance from Perch has helped the manager to clear the path for Tiote to slot back in against Southampton.

Speaking to The Journal, Alan Pardew looks to be getting just a little excited…

“With Gouffran on one side, Ben Arfa on the other and Sissoko & Cisse; blimey, that is mouthwatering for us.

There’s a possibility Hatem will be back for the next home match (Southampton).

Cabaye’s been a bigger bonus than perhaps the boys I have brought in, he’s as good a footballer as I have worked with.

You put Cheick (Tiote) and Sissoko in there and we’ve got a really, really good team if we can get it out on the pitch”.

I have a feeling that Alan Pardew is speaking the same language as most fans and with everybody fit, an attacking four of Gouffran, Cisse, Sissoko and Ben Arfa, with Tiote and Cabaye in behind is…mouthwatering!

Different matches might see the manager make the odd change but on what we’ve seen of our established players and the new signings so far, I don’t think there are many front sixes in the Premier League you would swap our top half dozen for.

If everybody is available for Southampton, including Ben Arfa and Gouffran, will we see Alan Pardew unleash his super six?

I have a feeling we might have to wait a little longer as I find it hard to see him leaving Jonas out at this point.

However, I certainly look forward to the day when those six are unleashed. Sunderland anyone?
