What A Line-Up For Newcastle United Today

With Alan Pardew confirming that only two players are missing today, we could be looking at some very interesting selection issues for the manager but for me it results in only one starting line-up.

Alan Pardew has confirmed Tim Krul will miss due to the ankle injury late on in the Ukraine, whilst he also announced that today was too early for Hatem Ben Arfa.

With Rob Elliot already named as Krul’s replacement, what about the other ten?

If we take it that the manager isn’t playing any games with who is or isn’t available, we are looking at numerous changes from the team that did so well against FC Metalist, with one or two maybe unlucky to miss out against Southampton.

I thought the defence were outstanding on Thursday but I only see Coloccini keeping his place, with the accepted current first choice back four reunited; Santon, Debuchy and Steven Taylor back in position.

With Tiote recovered from the illness that kept him out of the Europa League match he can give the extra protection and mobility in front of the back four. With Jonas seemingly back to his all all-action tireless play, it will give a great platform for our attacking play.

I’m really looking forward to see Cabaye, Sissoko, Gouffran and Cisse linking up, with Debuchy & Santon flying down the wings in support.

The snow may have fallen on Tyneside but I’m predicting a performance from Newcastle to warm everybody’s hearts today.
