Newcastle’s Managing Director Breaks Silence On Coloccini Situation
Newcastle United Managing Director, Derek Llambias, has broken his silence on the Fabricio Coloccini situation, and has spoken in glowing terms of him as a player and a man, but with no reassurance for the future.
Following on from Coloccini’s own recent quotes in an interview with media in Argentina, our captain’s off the field problems still remain and you wouldn’t fancy betting on that changing. Here is what Derek Llambias had to say to the Chronicle;
“I have a lot of respect for Fabricio, he’s a lovely man with a good heart.
He is very proud of what he has done at Newcastle in his role as captain, I’m delighted he has put to one side his family problems for now.
He will get through this period and we will then see what happens. He is though a true professional and has been a great servant, there is no question that he is one of our best players.
It is a case of getting through this season but it would be great to think a positive conclusion could be reached in the summer as the last couple of matches have reminded us all of just how good the Taylor/Coloccini partnership can be.
