Newcastle Pair Start For France v Germany

Tonight sees France take on Germany and two of Newcastle United’s stellar players take centre stage.

Both Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko start with Cabaye in his usual centre midfield role and Sissoko lining up on the right, Debuchy on the bench.

As you’ll see from the following translation from L’Equipe (thanks to translator Pierre), Sissoko’s impact at Newcastle hasn’t gone unnoticed.

In the middle, Cabaye and Matuidi form central pair while Moussa Sissoko will again be positioned on the right. The new Newcastle player is in sparkling form, as shown by his recent performances with the Magpies.

Debuchy is on the bench with Sagna returning to the starting eleven (the inference is that Sagna is first choice with Debuchy playing because Sagna was injured in the past but Deschamps is quoted as saying that just because Sagna plays tonight does not mean that he is the automatic first choice).

Sagna has come out to say that there will be no war between the two of them!’

If anybody watches the match tonight we’d love to hear your thoughts on how the Newcastle connection get on.
