Jonas – New Players Have Given A Lift And Newcastle Can Get Result In Ukraine
Jonas highlights the over reliance on younger players and whether you think they aren’t yet ready, as Gutierrez does, or just not up to the job – you pay your money.

“It is really good to have a bigger squad because that was a problem for us earlier in the season.
It’s been hard because we had a lot of injuries but not a lot of players.
The players who have had to play were maybe from the reserves and are young players. They’re very talented but it’s not fair to be there as Premier League regulars just yet, when they’re so young. The should be doing that in a few years.
Now we’ve more players and are picking up good results again, that has given everybody a big lift”.
Turning his attention to our match in the Ukraine on Thursday night, Jonas is confident that Newcastle can get the result but how much of that will depend on the make-up of the team between first teamers/purples and the squad/younger players?
“We’ll have to be fairly clever in the way we approach the second leg. All of us have to work out the best way to get behind them and create opportunities.
There’s not much between the two teams and Metalist will attack more in front of their own fans but we can score – we will create chances”.
Over the ninety minutes at the home leg, by the end United had clearly come out on top in everything but goals, though that was pretty much with the best eleven available.
Jonas might have the energy to play Thursday and Sunday but will his teammates also be capable and should we expect them to?
