It emerged today that Paul Gascoigne has taken a turn for the worse during his treatment for alcoholism in the United States.

Gazza was taken to hospital after suffering a bad reaction to his detoxifiacation.

The player’s long time psychotherapist, Dr.John McKeown, has said though that there are no fears for his life.

“The hospital reassured me that he’s up and walking.

Paul experienced some severe complications during his detoxification but this isn’t unusual for somebody who’s been drinking as heavily as him.

Paul was transferred from the US clinic to the local hospital to be monitored, to be completely satisfied there aren’t any other complications to his life – there are no fears for Paul’s life”.

Let us hope Gazza has hit rock bottom and is climbing out the other side now, here’s hoping.
