Chelsea Not Taking Newcastle’s Revenge Too Well…

It is funny sometimes how thing work out in football.

The old cliche about luck evening itself out over a season isn’t much consolation when you are on the wrong end of things.

Funnily enough I don’t remember much sympathy for Newcastle when we were on the end of one of the worst refereeing decisions ever made.

Just over a year ago the home match against Chelsea saw (ironically) Demba Ba put through on goal and last man Luiz scythed him down, only for referee Mike Dean to somehow punish it with a yellow card, unbelievable.

Newcastle went on to lose that match 3-0 with nothing going our way. It gets worse because almost certainly due to overdoing it when chasing the game, Steven Taylor ended up injured and out for the rest of the season, with Coloccini also ending up in the treatment room.

Newcastle then having to play Norwich with no centre-backs and getting thumped 4-2 into the bargain.

Oh how ironic it is that Chelsea are feeling so hard done by after the Coloccini/Ba incident on Saturday. Then it has emerged today that as well as Demba Ba now being an injury doubt with his broken nose, Petr Cech also broke a finger during the match and will be missing for a while.

Doesn’t life feel so much better when there just maybe appears to be somebody up there looking down and giving us a little bit back.

Why not celebrate Newcastle United’s resurgence with a subscription (prices from £23) to the top selling Newcastle United magazine, new issue out next Saturday. Magazines sent out all over the UK as well as every country (including France!!) around the world you can think of. Order NOW in our online shop .
