Carroll To Newcastle, Sissoko To Manchester United

The January transfer window has only just slammed shut and been securely nailed down, yet already we are all being fed inside ‘information’ on who will be moving in the next window!

The window closed on Thursday night and in the past we’ve usually managed to at least make it to the Sunday when most of the tabloid papers have a dedicated page or two of transfer gossip every week that has to have something in it!

This time though it is the Chronicle who are first to break cover and have reported that Andy Carroll is ‘open’ to the idea of returning to Newcastle United in the summer. That is if West Ham don’t buy him, Liverpool don’t want him, his transfer value plummets, he’ll take less wages/Ashley breaks pay structure…and so on and so on, you can guess the rest of the exclusive.

Unfortunately, the ever so slightly sarcastic second part of our headline will no doubt become reality before you can say ‘oh no he won’t’, it may not be Man.Utd that our midfield monster will be linked with but I dare bet we are only talking seconds/minutes/hours at the most before you will be reading something like the following – in fact you may be choking on your Rice Krispies as we speak, after opening up your Sunday paper –

‘Newcastle’s January transfer sensation, Moussa Sissoko, is already top of Manchester City’s summer shopping list…’

‘Pardew desperate to keep Sissoko as Chelsea identify their destroyer as a must buy in the summer’

They say that we get the newspapers that we deserve; some of us must have done some pretty terrible things in a past life to deserve some of the rubbish that so many trees die so unnecessarily for.

No prizes but let us know the first headline you see that says Sissoko will be on his bike in the summer, I’m guessing we won;t have to wait long…
