Alan Pardew Targets Big Striker In Summer
The manager believes that Remy is the only ‘big’ striker to have moved in the transfer window but is determined to put that right in the summer;
“When we lost out on Remy it was pretty evident we weren’t going to get a big striker.
They are pretty difficult to get over the line. You look around and nobody apart from Remy has really moved – maybe Danny Graham but I don’t think he’s in that level.
I think that’s something we will look at in the summer.
I want Manchester United’s position; Rooney, Van Persie, Welbeck and Hernandez. That would be nice but we haven’t got that”.
Obviously I think the manager was daydreaming a bit there with the Man.U. example of overall strength but in Cisse and Ba Newcastle had two of the best strikers in the Premiership and while Gouffran clearly looks a decent signing, as Pardew admits, we need another real quality striker at the club to go on top of what we have got.
