Vitesse Waiting For Domino Effect On Bony?

8 years ago

In an interview with the  Dutch media, Vitesse Arnhem’s Technical Director, Ted Van Leeuwen, has denied that there has been any bid as yet for Wilfried Bony.

Speaking to Omroep Gelderland, Van Leeuwen had this to say;

“To our knowledge nothing has happened (regarding a bid from Newcastle), in any event I haven’t seen any fax.

We want to reinforce our team but it is very difficult. We are on a certain budget and it can be waiting for the domino effect”.

With only a few days left to the closing of the window we will no doubt be treated to many more headlines regarding player transfers around Europe.

As Van Leeuwen says, often it is the domino effect and if one team sells then they will want somebody in to replace them, whether Newcastle are in the mood to create a domino effect by pursuing Bony is anybody’s guess.

Conflicting reports over the weekend that were claiming Newcastle’s business was now complete, while others hinted at interest in strikers like Bony, as well as Sporting’s Van Wolfswinkel and St.Etienne’s Aubameyang.

Buying one of these would be a massive cherry on the top of NUFC’s transfer window.
