Three Newcastle Players Called Up For France

To cap an ‘interesting’ last week or two at Newcastle United, Didier Deschamps has just named his latest squad to play Germany on February 6.

Yohan Cabaye leads the Newcastle contingent as he is included alongside Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko, with no place for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

It was of course Mapou’s transfer to Newcastle that led the French manager to question whether it was the ideal destination for one of France’s best up and coming centre-backs.

However, in his press conference Deschamps confirmed that Mapou is in his thoughts but that the last full match he played was actually in centre midfield for Montpellier and he needs to settle at his new club (Newcastle), where he was only a late substitute against Aston Villa.
