Pardew Lines Up A New Hero

Alan Pardew has confirmed that Demba Ba is on his way but is confident we’ll have a new hero to replace him, hopefully…

“He’s moved now and hopefully we’ll have a new hero emerge. I’m sure we will.

There is a positive because if he had gone with two days to go of the window and we hadn’t got a replacement in, suddenly we are in real trouble.

We have got time and hopefully that will work in our favour”.

So who will our new hero be?

What is clear is that it could be disastrous if for any length of time Alan Pardew feels he has to play Cisse wide right because of the the limitations in the rest of his team/squad.

As for it being a positive that Demba Ba is leaving so early….hmmm, I’ll reserve judgement.

The noises coming out of St.James’ Park and from friendly journalists were that Newcastle were aiming to have another striker in at the very start of the transfer window, regardless of whether Ba stayed or went. As it stands we don’t seemingly have Ba any more and we most definitely don’t have a new striker, yet.

I really hope that at the end of January I’m not thinking, wish we ‘d at least had Demba for the likes of the Everton, Norwich and Reading matches to help us maybe pick up a few more points.

Still look on the bright side, no more need to worry about whether he’s going off to the African Nations!
