Pardew – ‘Coloccini Stays And Remains Captain’

Newcastle United have at long last made a public statement on Fabricio Coloccini’s future.

As usual it is Alan Pardew who has the job of making any public pronouncements on behalf of the club and he has said the following today;

“Coloccini will stay at least until the end of season and then situation will be reassessed, he will also remain captain”.

A big relief that our captain has reached some kind of understanding with the club and will be there to help lead us out of this, hopefully brief, rocky patch.

The new signings are all well and good but we desperately need the better players already at the to give us a solid base which will enable the new ones to integrate as soon as possible.

Alan Pardew at least has the option of playing Coloccini alongside either Steven Taylor or new boy Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, or even
