NUFC Young Players Give Everyone A Lift
In their first match of 2013, United’s Under 18s gave everybody at St.James’ Park a lift this morning with an excellent 3-2 win over their Manchester City counterparts.
Greg Olley and Adam Campbell had given Newcastle a two goal lead but City fought back and equalised, only for substitute Jonathyn Quinn to give United a dramatic late winner in the 89th minute.
Ex-Newcastle coach Adam Sadler was in charge of the visiting team and continued their policy of promoting young players up the age groups and so City had a number of under 16 players in the team.
United’s starting team today was;
Woodman, Kitchen, Desmond, Logan, Streete, Satka, Olley, Halliday, Campbell, Gilliead, Aarons
The result will be a big relief to the youth set-up as their last win was way back in October against Stoke.
