Nile Ranger (To Fans) “U Are Not Forced to Pay Our Wages”

8 years ago

Last night I was (not surprisingly) in a bad mood when I got home after the match, which was hardly helped when I was told about Nile Ranger sending this out on his Twitter account

‘Certain fans need to not come and support this team…Coming out to BOOO us..Stay at home..Don’t nee ur BOO’s…SAY NO MORE!!!’

Whether (paying!) fans should or shouldn’t boo at the matches is one thing but for Ranger to have the audacity to comment is quite unbelievable and it prompted an article [intlink id=”23072″ type=”post”]Nile Ranger Slags Off Newcastle Fans[/intlink]

On checking this morning I found out that Ranger just couldn’t stop himself adding oil to the fire;

‘Not my confidence…BOO all u want :)’

‘Last thing from me…To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets..Or pay our wages..Please remember that…’

‘If you are loyal fans..Be with us..When we are out there on the field..Be the 12th man..Don’t come and BOO..That aint going to help any1′

‘Team is going through rough patch..Last thing we need is fans against us’

‘We are a TEAM u BOO 1 player…Ur booing all of us !!!’

This prompted Sammy Ameobi (living up to the nickname I’ve recently seen used – ‘Sammy Clown Shoes’!!) to foolishly come out and side with Ranger

‘I’ve learnt that it’s not worth the arguement pal’

Which of course further justified Ranger’s stance, in his own head anyway.

For the record, I don’t think the fans booed any of the players during the match, the substitutions led to boos and at the final whistle also, but during the actual play I heard nothing but support…which is incredible in the circumstances.

People talk about super rich players like Rooney, Lampard, Terry etc all being out of touch with the man in the street, but in his own way I think Nile Ranger is far worse. Those players all turn up for work on time and contribute to the team, paying the fans back for their money and loyalty.

Ranger earns a fortune at Newcastle United compared to almost every fan in the ground and has shown a complete lack of respect for the fans, the club, the manager and the rest of the players, not even being able to bother to get into training on time.

Ranger says ‘To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets..Or pay our wages..Please remember that…’ – well Nile, due to tens of thousands of us being addicted to supporting Newcastle united we don’t have a choice as to whether we go to matches or not. Even worse though is that because we can’t stay away we have no choice but to help pay everybody’s wages, including yours. If fans could tick a box for your season ticket not going to a particular player then I think it would be the first time the name ‘Nile Ranger’ would be so popular.

Maybe though the last word should be left to Ranger’s boss, Alan Pardew, who when explaining his substitutions against Reading had this to say about the options he was left with (Ranger one of those sitting on the bench) as Newcastle desperately needed a goal and Yohan Cabaye had to come off;

“I should have put a striker on at that point to give us extra impetus but I did not have that option”.
