Montpellier Confirm Centre-Back Move To Newcastle
Their official club website has confirmed that the centre-back has played his 219th and final match for the French club and has now signed for United, subject to the usual medical.
Before departing, the player gave a long interview for the Montpellier fans (translation by Pierre) but the pertinent question for our Mag readers was:
“England was a childhood dream …”
“Yes I am about to tackle a mountain. It is something I was expecting and that I wanted to do, now it is for me to go and discover. It is a country where everybody loves football, everybody lives for football, everyone plays football. I really want to experience this culture. It’s like discovering the Champions League or the Championship, it’s part of the things you want to discover as a player … I hope that things will turn out well for me.”
