Llambias On Transfers – ‘We Are Absolutely Done’

8 years ago

When it was reported this morning that Mike Ashley was arriving by helicopter at the training ground, there was a belated tease at the end of the report on Sky wondering if maybe we were going to have an extra surprise on deadline day…

Now though Derek Llambias has made clear that the owner’s visit is along the lines of meeting and greeting the new players, rather than any bonus investment in the first team playing staff.

Derek Llambias had this to say to Sky and the Mail amongst others;

“Mike (Ashley) has come to say hello to the new recruits, welcome then to the club and see the rest of the team and the manager, so it’s great he’s flown in today.

We are absolutely done, it’s been a very busy month and we’re delighted we’ve landed those targets.

Last time we had a lot of pressure on the final two days, far too much pressure, that’s not going to happen. Mike has come today to reassure everyone that our crown jewels are in place and they are absolutely staying!”.

Great news to hear that we aren’t taking a hit on the ‘crown jewels’ and I must admit I much prefer the imagery of our team containing crown jewels rather than the ‘purple’ scenario. A bit more class in my eyes.
