Keegan Names Player To Save NUFC Season

As Newcastle United continue to struggle to get the results that would drag them up the table, Kevin Keegan has revealed the player he believes is the most important to United and it is not Demba Ba.

Speaking to ESPN, Keegan believes that once Yohan Cabaye is back we’ll have no worries;

“Losing Demba Ba will be a blow but I think they would have expected that. I think the biggest problem Newcastle have at the moment is the fact that Yohan Cabaye is injured. He is the most influential player there.

He is the one that I would pick out above Papiss Cisse, above Demba Ba and he’s definitely their key player.

When he comes back I don’t think Newcastle will have any problems. Once Cabaye comes back then you will see the old Newcastle and , especially at St.James’ Park, they will get the points they need to stay up”.

Seeing Yohan Cabaye alongside Mathieu Debuchy in the stands at St.James’ Park last night brought double relief, as confirmation is expected of the French international full-back’s transfer at any time, while his mate Yohan is scheduled to return in a week or two.

I wouldn’t disagree with Kevin Keegan’s assessment but maybe Cabaye’s influence will prove even wider having helped to convince a real talent like Debuchy to also join us.
