Italian ‘Arry Redknapp Tries To Stir It Up

DavideSantonSQ15We might think we have some contemptible football club owners over here but they would be hard pushed to be as bad as AC Milan’s Silvio Berlusconi.

As well as an absolutely shocking political ‘career’ and scandal after scandal in public life, when Berlusconi puts his other hat on as owner of AC Milan, things don’t improve.

A bit like a continental ‘Arry Redknapp, Berlusconi doesn’t think twice about trying to unsettle players from other teams, to a background of nearly as many scandals in Italian football as happens in political life over there.

Speaking to Mediaset Sport, Berlusconi had said;

“We will build a team with young players who can help AC Milan (currently nearly as likely as us to win their league – 14 points behind Juve) to be a leader in Italy and in Europe.

Davide Santon and Destro? I gave my word to (Milan’s vice-president) Adriano Galliani I wouldn’t reveal any names but these are players we like”.

He may not have hit the heights in recent matches, little wonder with some of the players he’s had to play alongside, but Santon is still my player of the season so far and even better had this to say to the Chronicle;

“I am happy at the club, I have had a year and a half here and I really enjoy it.

This is really important for a young player. We are a young team here and we are growing together. That will only make us stronger in the long-term”.
