Coloccini D-Day

With only two weeks of the transfer window remaining, Alan Pardew will be desperate to both retain his best players and bring in the essential signings United clearly need.

High up on his wish list must be to keep his captain, Fabricio Coloccini, who found out he still had the support of the fans at Norwich despite the speculation regarding his future, Colo also returning to something like his best form and winning our man of the match poll.

Now it is claimed that today will see crunch talks on Coloccini’s future with The Independent, who originally broke the story, reporting that the captain will meet with the club to come to a resolution after initial talks last Thursday.

It seems inconceivable that we will lose our captain at such a crucial time but you can never say never and it’s essential it is resolved as soon as possible. Then if the worst happens, Alan Pardew has to go all out to convince Mike Ashley that without one readymade Premier League quality centre-back coming in we will be in desperate straits.

That is of course on top of the other quality centre-back we were already desperate for…
