Club Confirm Pardew’s Job Is Secure

In a move that comes as no surprise, Newcastle United have made clear that Alan Pardew’s job is not up for discussion despite United’s desperate form.

Using friendly media sources to get the message out, Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias have used The Journal to show their backing for the manager, with more importantly the extra information that belatedly they are also backing Pardew in the transfer market with signings claimed to be imminent.

‘The Journal understands from senior club sources, however, that Pardew’s position is not up for discussion. The manager is “safe” and will be backed in the transfer market, with France international defender Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa set to sign tomorrow after an £8m fee was agreed with Montpellier’.

While there is little doubt that Alan Pardew could have handled things better at times, I think most fans would accept that the biggest factor in this season’s form was the failure to bring in the players desperately needed last summer.

If that now at last happens then maybe we can all, including Alan Pardew, start and move on from this depressing situation. Here’s hoping.
