United We Stand
Having seen so many different reactions to the last two matches, I have been amazed at the amount of people desperate to blame someone for our current shortcomings. Everyone from Mike Ashley and Williamson, to Alan Pardew and the tea lady. It’s beyond irritating and fairly perplexing. It’s natural to want to point the finger at someone when things are going wrong, but from our position as fans at this moment in time it’s a fruitless exercise.
I’m angry at a variety of things at the moment. I’m sure everyone has their own gripe. The time to analyse things and apportion blame, or congratulate people, is at the end of the season. Either then, or when it becomes blindingly clear we’re sitting on a sinking ship. Neither of those times are upon us now.
Playing the blame game can only have a negative impact on the players and staff. We need to be positive, especially when looking at the fixture list for the next few weeks. Wigan on Monday has taken on a massive importance and is a must win game.
Let’s all please take as many positives in terms of improvement from Wednesday as we can and support the team on Monday. No boos, just the fantastic support we all know our fans are capable of.
We have the players available to us until January at least and the manager for a great deal longer. Lets accept that fact for now and support our team, rather than look to poke a wound that still has time to heal.
