United To Go For Right-Back, Centre-Back and Striker
As the new year rushes towards us there are more encouraging signs of investment in the playing squad with reports this morning claiming Newcastle will go for a new right-back, centre-half and striker in the transfer window.
The Journal claim that their inside information says that belatedly Newcastle will bring in at least these three players who were needed in the summer and could yet help save United’s season from going nowhere, or somewhere far worse.
Of course our history, both recent and in the past, tells us not to believe anybody is signing until you see them in a black and white shirt, but surely the time has now come where even Mike Ashley can see where we are heading without reinforcements.
The reports also claim that Newcastle are also looking to do their business early and expect to unveil at least one player by new year’s day with an £8m deal for Marseille striker, Loic Remy, on the cards despite the French club’s insistence they are looking to keep the player.
Once again names such as Debuchy and Douglas will be in everybody’s minds but will Mike Ashley pay the price tag this time?
There is also talk of Newcastle United targeting an FA Cup run, now there would be a novelty!
