While it is clear that Newcastle are very likely to be active in the transfer window, or so you would hope, the likelihood of Andy Carroll arriving next month is less than zero.
The speculation is that Liverpool don’t want him, which appears pretty clear, while it is claimed that West Ham may exercise their right to send Carroll back earlier than next May and use the money saved to help make way for another signing.

Both of those things may be true but lazy journalists resurrecting the idea of some kind of Ba/Carroll swap deal in January are forgetting one important point, again!
Fifa regulations dictate;
‘Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During the period, the plater is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs’ (The only exception is where one of the clubs is in a country who play out of sync – playing through the summer).
As Carroll has already played for West Ham AND Liverpool this season, the only club he could leave West Ham and go to (and play for) in January is…Liverpool.
Of course Newcastle could sign him but they couldn’t play him and amongst all the nonsense surrounding our club, I doubt even they would contemplate that.
