NUFC Player Gets Club Kicked Out Of FA Cup

Newcastle United’s Curtis Good has unwittingly got his current club Bradford City kicked out of the FA Cup.

Bradford have until 5pm today to decide if they’ll appeal after being punished for playing the ineligible Good in last Friday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford in the 2nd round.

The Yorkshire club found aout about the ban this morning after a personal hearing at the FA yesterday.

An FA statement reads: “The FA has confirmed that Bradford City have been removed from the FA Cup after fielding an ineligible player in their second round tie.

Bradford City did not have the necessary permission for Curtis Good to play in the competition, while on loan from Newcastle United, by the 12pm deadline on Friday November 30 prior to the fixture that evening.

Obviously it looks like somebody has cocked up somewhere but in cases like this the punishment never seems to fit the ‘crime’ with thousands of fans disadvantaged because of an individual not filling in a form.
