NUFC Linked With Premier League Midfielder
Press reports have linked Newcastle United with a January move for Southampton midfielder, and captain, Adam Lallana.
The 24 year old of course scored in the two goal win last month against Newcastle and according to The Mirror, Alan Pardew is looking to sign him.
Lallana was called up for England in September when they played Ukraine and has scored one other goal for Southampton to make it 2 in 15 Premier League matches so far.
Needless to say we are desperate for at least one more quality midfield player but maybe the story starts to fall down when it says Newcastle would look to start the bidding at £5m, especially when the player signed a new four year contract only last year.
Seems a bit doubtful that Southampton would think for a second to let one of their best players and captain leave mid-season for anything like £5m, especially when he’s had an England call-up.
One thing in Pardew’s favour is that he worked with Lallana for just over a year when he managed Southampton.
