NUFC 30 And Counting In Europe

It already seems like it has been a really long season for Newcastle United and nowhere more so than in Europe.

In the eight matches so far, pretty much every player on Newcastle’s books has appeared in a Europa League match, well pretty much everybody apart from poor old Xisco.

In fact THIRTY players have appeared so far in United’s European campaign – why not have a go at naming them before reading through the list of them at the bottom of the article.

Obviously injuries and suspensions have played a part but it does show that even more than the Premier league Newcastle have struggled to put out a settled side in the Europa League.

I’m sure that in the summer Alan Pardew had an idea of the team he’d like to put out in Europe, with the odd change here and there, a lack of investment in the summer plus injuries have meant he’s called on first team players he might have hoped to leave at home.
