Hatem Ben Arfa Walks It

Hatem Ben Arfa was back in action on Monday and reminded us all of where exactly our strengths and weaknesses are.

Despite being out for a few matches and as Alan Pardew confirmed afterwards the player wasn’t fit, yet his class shone out and unfortunately reminded us of the class gap that massively exists in our team.

In our man of the match poll, Ben Arfa got a massive 50% of the thousands of votes, even though he could only last seventy minutes as Alan Pardew protected one of his most valuable assets.

So this is a player only half fit but who scored a cracking goal and lit up the match with some beautiful play, if only we had a few more of him…

With another week’s training hopefully our French genius will be raring to go on Saturday, with Hatem in top form then we know anything is possible.

Vurnon Anita confirmed the steady progress he is making with the second highest amount of votes (14%), while Tim Krul’s third position (13%) showed him back at his very best as he kept us in the game several times.
