Hatem Ben Arfa – ‘I Feel Loved Here And I Love Newcastle’
This can only be music to our ears to hear Hatem wax lyrical about both the club and the city, especially with the January transfer window approaching and all the nonsense that goes with it;

“It is a job but I love what I am doing and I enjoy it every day. It is very important to enjoy. Of course you have to win but football is a spectacle. The fans come to see the game for spectacle. They want us to win but they want to see something special as will. I want to give them pleasure.
I feel very happy in Newcastle, I feel welcome. I feel loved here. I love the city and I love the place. I love it when the fans come to meet me, or they come to see me.
This is the most confidence I have been given in my career and I want to do well for the club and the fans. I have realised that it is 30% talent and the rest is hard work. Here in the Premier League you have to be very strong first and after that you can play”.
Ben Arfa’s interview with The Independent sums up for me the talented players who really get it at Newcastle.
As well as a load of rubbish we’ve watched over the years, we have seen some truly great players who not only love doing it on the pitch but whole love Tyneside as well.
Of course you expect nothing less with local heroes such as Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley but it does give you an extra buzz when players such as Les Ferdinand, Tino Asprilla, Laurent Robert, Phillippe Albert and Nobby Solano get what the place is all about.
Would be great to think we’ll be watching Hatem Ben Arfa for years to come, here’s hoping.
