Better News On NUFC Injury Front

Putting aside his disappointment at Thursday night’s display by the fringe/younger players, Alan Pardew had more positive news on the injury front.

With Tiote, Ba and Santon all coming off against Wigan, hopefully the extra two days before Monday night at Craven Cottage will help ensure the manager has most of the walking wounded available.

Speaking to the Chronicle Alan Pardew had this to say;

“The good news from the camp is that I’m hoping most of the guys left behind can train today and if not, Sunday.

We can go into Monday in a lot healthier position with the best possible players available.

Hatem has a chance, as have Obertan, Gutierrez, Ba and Tiote too.

I am hoping at least three of those can train today and the rest on Sunday”.

It is vital that Newcastle build on the three points against Wigan and we have found Craven Cottage a tricky venue on more than the odd occasion.

Poor showings by all of the fringe players last night means that if Alan Pardew had the faintest doubts that his elite players are worth an automatic place, they they were dispelled with the Bordeaux defeat.
