Ben Arfa Out For A Month
In the pub before the Manchester City match, the consensus was that Alan Pardew had maybe written the Manchester City match off and was looking after Hatem Ben Arfa to make sure he was ok for the QPR match next Saturday.
However, things are just getting worse and worse as you’ll see from Alan Pardew’s update today;
“There is a danger he (Hatem Ben Arfa) could tear his hamstring.
If he did that he would be out for 2 or 3 months whereas if we do it the right way and be sensible about it, it may only be three weeks and obviously this is the route we are going to take.
From now until January it is going to be a dogfight. We have got to accept that and dog our way out of it and make sure we beat QPR, then hopefully get something at Manchester United.
They are the next two on the agenda.
In the last four games it is very difficult to say that we have only got three points out of them.
You can just see there’s not a lot really wrong but unfortunately we haven’t got a points total that reflects the work we are putting in”.
Newcastle showed yesterday in the second half that they could well have the capacity to ‘dog’ their way out of it, the less said about the first half the better.
