Ba/Cisse Partnership Is Not The Problem, It’s The Solution

Alan Pardew has been talking about the ‘problem’ of getting the best out of the Demba Ba/Papiiss Cisse partnership but is that not looking at the issue upside down?

The Manager;

“That’s a process we’re looking at, to try and get the best out of the two; Cisse and Ba. We do sometimes change within a game, like we did at Fulham, to try and do that.

Obviously the opposition are trying to disrupt this, so we have to find a way where they contribute. I thought they did some good things at Fulham but that’s not to say we can’t improve it.

We are still working to get the best out of them and we need Cisse scoring goals. We need him scoring special goals, it’s a process we have done some work on”.

Ba and Cisse are two quality strikers and I think we should be looking elsewhere for where the problem is.

This season they have had to work off scraps, thanks both to injuries to Ben Arfa and Cabaye and a team set-up that leaves them isolated, as long balls are punted up to them.

Alan Pardew mentions Fulham and in that second half the two strikers began to get a few balls into their feet around the box and surprise surprise they looked like they could score/create at any time.

I’ve even seen knackers suggesting getting rid of either of them! Get real, ‘Double Demba’ are the solution, not the problem.
