Attack Attack Attack!

First things first, would we have attempted to approach these two festive fixtures any differently? For 89 minutes at Old Trafford we should have got the point we deserved and after 70 odd minutes at the Emirates, again a similar situation.

Obviously a farcical ending against Arsenal made us look close on pathetic  but after putting so much into the two games I was hardly surprised.

This, after Arsenal are allowed to call off a game for a strike which never took, or seemed likely to take, place. The real problem is that this team has a built in attacking philosophy which was evident in the success of last season.

The problem now is that the few who were protecting us, are either being completely exposed at this level, or totally out of form.

The obvious place to start is CB and Williamson. Now the scariest part of the Arsenal game was we conceded 7 and can’t blame him for any of them! I’m not going to lie, I’m not a fan, as is the case with Danny Simpson, but it’s not their fault they aren’t good enough! They should have been quietly shipped out or moved into squad players in the summer, instead we wait some 5 months and lose at least another 15 points before we bring in people we should have.

It seems Debuchy is on his way at last, but like Santon, it seems his qualities lie in offensive play, something that won’t solve this current defensive problem. The form of Colo and Tiote is alarming and needs to be addressed, two players who look a shadow of the former selves.

The question is should we be worried? My answer, no!

To arguably dominate those two games for long periods, says going forward we have more than enough but as we saw against QPR it’s the fear of losing to the poor teams around us that will define our season.

Ba or Remy goals in this team and with Cayabe and Ben Arfa close to a return, we need to keep believing and ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!
