Another Player Newcastle Won’t Be Signing
The latest player to be linked with a move to Newcastle is ex-Everton striker/midfielder, Tim Cahill.
Cahill is currently on the books of the New York Red Bulls but is reportedly interested in a short-term loan deal back to the Premier League in January.
This would be following in the footsteps of players such as Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry who have come back to play for Aston Villa and Arsenal, respectively.
While undoubtedly a success in his time at Everton, the chances of Mike Ashley paying out to rent a 33 year old player who will not be a (financial) asset, with no possibility of increasing in value in the longer term…well it just isn’t going to happen.
Whether such a rigid policy in the transfer market is the right approach, only time will tell.
