9 Out Of 10 Fans Blame Ashley Lack of Transfer Cash For Failure

In a poll of thousands of Newcastle United fans, an astonishing figure of over 92% of them say that Alan Pardew wasn’t backed by Mike Ashley in the summer transfer market, a lack of a ‘fair amount’ of money leading to the poor form in the league.

Another resounding figure in the Chronicle poll was that 95% of fans see Alan Pardew as the man to ‘lead us to the next level’.

With Alan Pardew once again making it clear that Newcastle desperately need to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, these figures of fan support can only strengthen the manager’s hand and give him the confidence to try and persuade Mike Ashley to back him this time.

The failure to back Alan Pardew’s judgement in the summer with the new signings that were desperately needed has totally backfired, with the Chronicle poll results confirming how much the club got it wrong by not investing in the squad that finished fifth.
