Will Newcastle’s Top 3 Players v Brugge Stay In Team?

Newcastle’s midweek trip to Belgium included a couple of soft goals with our (usually) most reliable players involved..but what about the players who starred?

Thanks to everybody who voted in our man of the match poll on Thursday and your top three made interesting reading.

While the likes of Tim Krul and Fabricio Coloccini had moments they’d like to forget, our top three players in the poll were; Vurnon Anita (29% of the total votes), Shola Ameobi (28%) and Sammy Ameobi (23%).

As well as his stunning strike, Anita put in a very good shift getting up and down the right hand side, while the Ameobi brothers combined for the equaliser and put in otherwise decent displays.

The question is though whether the Europa League performances will equate to staying in the team for the Premier League clash with West Ham?

It is an ongoing dilemma for Alan Pardew because if Newcastle continue to progress in the Europa League with at least half the team made up of fringe players, at what point does he feel obliged to keep them in the team at the expense of more ‘obvious’ choices?

Answers on a postcard?
