Taylor’s Back And Heading For Captain’s Armband?
A decision I struggled to agree with was keeping Mike Williamson in the team at the expense of Steven Taylor.
All that changed on Sunday of course and Taylor cam back and played as though he’d never been left on the bench.
His performance brought Taylor a resounding 47% of our man of the match vote, thanks to the thousands of you taking the time to select your top man.
Yohan Cabaye ended up second with 16% and Krul third with 7%.
One of the things I love about Steven Taylor is his attitude and confidence in his ability. He’s never afraid to lead from the front/back and it comes naturally to him the job of encouraging those around him.
With Fabricio Coloccini having an enforced absence, surely now is the time to give the captain’s armband to Taylor in Colo’s absence.
I really rate Jonas but think he is somebody who has to just play his own game and set an example with his play but not somebody who can organise and talk to those around him.
Taylor must be Coloccini’s eventual natural successor as captain and now it’s time to give him a taste of it, he won’t let anybody down.
