Striker A Doubt For Thursday
That is obviously if you ignore all the longer term injured!
Speaking about our Europa League match the manager had this to say;
“The only one we are a little bit concerned about is Shola. He’s got a slight groin niggle, so we are going to have to see how he shapes up for tomorrow’s game”.
If Shola is absent then it could prove a problem as he has been Alan Pardew’s go to striker for the Europa League matches..
There was always the likelihood that Papiss Cisse would play at least part of the Maritimo match but if Shola misses out then I think he would be playing the full ninety minutes.
Although there is always Ranger and Xisco…
Alan Pardew also confirmed that he expected Yohan Cabaye’s operation on his groin to be either this Friday or Monday next week.
