Pardew Rules 3 Players Out Of Brugge
Speaking ahead of tonight’s match against Club Brugge, Alan Pardeew has ruled three players out of contention.
“This is an opportunity to get the qualification sorted but it’s easier said than done. After the last game we are all aware of Brugge’s qualities and we’re carrying three more big injuries after the trip to Liverpool at the weekend.
Cabaye, Perch and Demba definitely won’t play, so that’s three big players that are out of the equation before we’ve got on the plane. That doesn’t give me a lot of options to rest players or shuffle the team around.
The squad is really stretched at the moment and there’s no doubt that events at Anfield at the weekend have hurt us”.
No surprise that the manager is saying Ba and Perch won’t play as they didn’t even get on the plane!
However, Yohan Cabaye is a curious one if Alan Pardew has seen fit to take him though he definitely isn’t playing.
Hopefully the fact he’s gone with the rest of the squad suggests his injury isn’t serious and he is still able to train with the other players, as well as getting the attention of the first team physios who will have gone with the squad.
Fingers crossed that it means Cabaye has every chance of facing West Ham on Sunday.
